LIONG SEN PROFILE

Liong Sen is a complementary therapist and Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Yoga teacher. He trained in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tui-na (Chinese physio), Shiatsu, Tai Chi. Qi Gong, Meditation, Mindfulness  and Therapeutic Sports Massage.


Liong Sen is of Chinese origin. He was brought up in a Buddhist and Taoist family. His first contact with Tai Chi and Qi Gong was from his grandparents who were devoted Tai Chi and Qi Gong teachers when he was a young child. Over the years, Liong Sen has been fortunate to learn under the guidance of his family as well as study with many other outstanding Tai Chi masters in China and Europe. Liong Sen has been teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong for over 20 years. He runs Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga, Meditation retreats in Europe, Turkey, Bali and China.

TAI CHI

  • Tai Chi is an ancient exercise originating from China where it has been practised for centuries and has gained popularity in parts of the world due to its health benefits.  


  

  • Tai Chi is considered a mind-body exercise. The mind reflects a person’s thoughts, emotions and beliefs. 

  

  • Breath, movement and awareness work together in Tai Chi. As you move your body through the physical motions, you are asked to relax and breathe deeply and naturally as well as focus on your attention. 

  

  • Tai Chi is a very meditative exercise as it’s done slowly and mindfully. Tai Chi is known as a ‘Mindfulness on Wheels’ or ‘Moving Meditation’. Tai Chi helps you stay present in class, relaxes your breathing and focuses your mind. Tai Chi can also be practised in a group which can enhance enjoyment, build a sense of community and help with motivation to be physically active. 

  

  • There is good evidence to suggest that Tai Chi can have a long-term positive effect on your mood and well-being physically and mentally. 


QI GONG

  • Qi Gong is one of the oldest health exercises in Chinese history dating back thousands of years. 


  • Qi Gong is a mind, body, breath and health exercise. Qi Gong seeks to stimulate the flow of Qi (vital energy) along the energy channels and meridians throughout the body. 


  • Tai Chi and Qi Gong are often described as “moving meditation”. These ancient health exercises relax the body and mind, energise the body, create harmony between the mind and body. 


  • Tai Chi and Qi Gong are amongst the most popular exercises in China and South East Asia, practised by tens of thousands of people. Tai Chi and Qi Gong’s popularity has noticeably increased in recent years in many countries due to its benefits for our wellbeing.

  • Liong Sen’s class emphasises building strength, improving flexibility and balance, energising the body and relaxing the mind, relieving stress and improving general wellbeing. 


  • The class is suitable for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels. No prior experience is required. Please don’t eat a large meal less than 2 hours prior to the class.   Please wear loose comfortable clothing.
